WWCS does not discriminate in the admission of students on the basis of race, color, gender, nationality or ethnic origin.  Before admission, however, parents and students must satisfy the school’s admission requirements and complete the appropriate registration process. Catholics and non-Catholics are both welcome at our schools.

• Admission is granted upon approval by the principal after all steps in the New Student Enrollment Process are completed. 
• Transfer students should be performing at grade level. School records must be reviewed prior to acceptance. Admission will be on a trial basis until grade level performance is confirmed by teacher observation and/or assessments.
• Typically, during the first few weeks of school the teacher(s) and administration may determine and recommend an alternate grade level/class placement for the student to provide for future success in the classroom.
• DeSales students are accepted on a semester probationary period.  The Principal reserves the right to require students to pursue other educational opportunities during the probationary period or at the conclusion.

Age Requirements for Kindergarten & First Grade 

• For First Grade, the child must be age 6 by August 31 of the year of admission in accordance with WWCS Policy (5111) and Washington State Policy (WAC 180-16-166).
• For Kindergarten, the child must be age 5 by August 31 of the year of admission in accordance with WWCS Policy (5111) and Washington State Policy (WAC 180-16-166)

Kindergarten Readiness

Registration is conditional until Kinder Readiness evaluation is complete. Evaluation results will be given no later than May 31st, 2023. If a student is not accepted, enrollment fees will be refunded. In unusual circumstances, the School may evaluate the readiness of students outside these guidelines, but only by approval of the Principal and classroom teacher.
